The Women’s Basketball Club Team of the University of Guam Recreation Program, the Lady Tridents, lost to the Guam Community College team 61-49 in a Trident Women’s Basketball League game on Feb. 13 at the UOG Calvo Field House.
It was a tight defensive game for the two teams. UOG led the first quarter 17-13 with consistent shooting and rebounding on offense and defense. However, GCC led a comeback before halftime, scoring 18 points and holding UOG to 12 points during the second period to lead 31-29 at the half.
GCC then led 41-39 after the third quarter to hold a slight advantage in the close game. It was GCC's persistent scoring that took GCC to victory over UOG in the fourth quarter as GCC scored 20 points to the Tridents' 10, ending the game at 61-49.
L. Baza and I. Borja both led GCC in scoring with 14 points, and M. Cruz added 13 for GCC. Izabel Abad led the Lady Tridents with 11 points, and Momoko Ennis added nine points.

Team Slay led at the end of each quarter -- with scores of 18-8, 34-24, and 50-38 -- but Fuetsa came back in the final 10 minutes to make the contest a two-point game with less than two minutes to play, but Slay made a couple of plays to hold off Fuetsa and win the game.
