The University of Guam Men's Soccer Team defeated the Omega Warriors on Nov. 2 with a score of 11-0 in a Budweiser Amateur Men's League match at the Guam Football Association's National Training Center.
The Tritons made sure they did not allow a big half-time lead to get away from them, as last week they lost to the Islanders FC after holding a 4-1 lead at half-time. This time, the Tritons took a 6-0 lead into halftime and added five more scores to it in the final 45 minutes to win the match 11-0. This tied the second highest goal tally for the Tritons in a match, with the record being 13-0.
Shashi Kotwal opened the scoring for UOG with a goal four minutes into the match. Kautong Omenqkar followed with a UOG goal at the seven-minute mark and James Yang added a goal at the 14-minute mark to give UOG a 3-0 lead before the first 15 minutes of the match was done. Kyler Duenas, Isaiah Macias and Brandon Flores scored goals for UOG in the final 30 minutes of the first half to give the Tritons a 6-0 lead at half-time.
UOG did not let up to start the second half, as Ryo Suzuki scored three goals in the early part of the second half, as he netted scores at the 47, 52, and 61 minute marks.. And then Derrick Cruz finished off the scoring for the Tritons with goals at the 70- and 74-minute marks.
UOG is now 1-1-0 on the season and play again at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, against the Andersen Bombers at the GFA National Training Center.
