The University of Guam Athletics Department will induct nine former UOG athletes into the Triton Athletics Hall of Fame as the "Class of 2018" this Sunday, Oct. 28.

A Hall of Fame reception will be held from noon to 2:20 p.m. at the UOG Calvo Field House followed by the Hall of Fame Basketball Game at 3 p.m.

The Class of 2018 has the following members:

David Nelson - Baseball

Susy Rechebong - Women's Basketball

Joe Taitano - Men's Basketball

Art Rabon - Football

David Zimms - Baseball

Susie Borden - Women's Basketball

Tony Thompson - Men's Basketball

Lawrence Johnson - Football

James Whippy - Men's Soccer Coach

The reception will also feature two current UOG soccer players being honored with the first James Whippy Soccer Academic Scholarships. Each member of the Class of 2018 will get 10 minutes to share their memories of playing for UOG or other Guam-based teams from high school to national teams.

After the reception, the UOG Men's Basketball Team will take on the Andersen Bombers in an exhibition game. At half-time, the Class of 2018 will be inducted into the Triton Athletics Hall of Fame.

This will increase the Triton Athletics Hall of Fame to 15 members after inducting six members in 2017.

Admission to the reception is $20. The basketball game is free.
