3rd Season of Guam Women’s College Volleyball League Begins Play On Monday
The 3rd season of the Guam Women’s College Volleyball League starts on Monday, September 10th at the UOG Calvo Field House as four college volleyball teams will square off against one another.
In the opening match on Monday at 6:15pm the league will feature the two time defending champion, the UOG Lady Tritons against the team from Guam Community College. UOG is 16-0 in the two previous seasons with a 48-7 record in sets. GCC has finished 3rd both years of the league with a 5-9 record overall and a competitive 23-29 record in sets.
In the 2nd match of the night at 7:45pm, the UOG Tridents Club Team will face the Pacific Island University Tide. The Tridents, sponsored by the UOG Recreation Program, finished 2nd in the league during Season One with a 4-4 record and 16-17 set record, but did not compete in Season Two. Pacific Islands University has finished 4th both seasons in the league with a 0-14 record and 5-42 record in sets.
The GWCVL semi-finals are set for October 4th with the championship match scheduled for Saturday, October 6th at 10:00am in the UOG Calvo Field House.
UOG will sponsor a Triton Night event on October 4th during the GWCVL Semi-Final Play-offs. Free t-shirts, free food, give-aways, raffles and contests will be offered for the special event.
