Trident Women's Basketball Club Plays Best Game of Season, But Still Comes Up Short
The University of Guam Recreation Department Trident Women'/s Basketball Club Team
played their best game of the Trident Women's Basketball League season so far, but
still came up short 57-47 against the Crusader Basketball Club at the UOG Calvo Field
House on Thursday night.
The game marked the start of the 2nd half of the season for the Tridents and much
like their first game against the Crusaders, the Trident fell far behind in the first
quarter, 20-4, but then made a comeback as the game contined. The first time the team
played, UOG fell behind 19-3 after the first quarter as well.
The Tridents were behind 32-17 at half and 45-34 at the end of 3 quarters, but UOG
pulled within 5 points in the 4th quarter, but could not contine the monmentum to
overcome the Crusaders and loss by 10 points at the end.
T. Skats led UOG with 11 points while Via Defant added 10 points. Momoko Ennis had
19 rebounds for the Tridents. V. Blas led all scorers with 16 points for the Crusaders.
UOG falls to 0-5 on the season and plays the league leading Fuetsa BC team on Saturday
at 6:00 p.m. The Crusaders are now 2-3 on the season and play the Royal Basketball
Club on Saturday at 2:00pm.
In the other TWBL game on Thursday, Fuetsa BC defeated Guam Community College 67-45.
Fuetsa is now 5-0 in the league while 2nd place GCC is 3-2.
