Lady Tridents WBC Get Two Wins By Forfeit
The University of Guam Recreation Department Trident Women's Basketball Club got two wins by forfeit on Saturday in the Trident Women's Basketball League when the Crusader Basketball Club did not show for their Saturday game against Guam Community College, and as the 2nd forfeit of the season for the Crusaders, they were suspended from the league and their victories became forfeits.
The Lady Trident WBC are now 2-5 in the TWBL and face the Royal Basketball Club tonight (Monday, March 5) in the final regular season game for the league. The Royals are 3-4 for the season. If the Tridents win, then UOG and the Royals will be tied for third place and the seeding will be determined by "Least Points Allowed" between between the two involved teams.
The Royals beat the Tridents 56-39 in the first meeting, so the UOG club would have to win by at least 18 points to take the 3rd seed, If UOG won by 17 points, then the "Tie-Breakers" would continue to "Most Points Scored" between the two tied teams. If the Royals win or lose by 16 points or less, then the Royals would be the #3 seed and the Lady Tridents would be 4th.
The TWBL semi-finals are on Thursday night (March 8th) with games at 6:15pm and 8:00pm in the UOG Calvo Field House. #1 Seed Fuetsa BC (8-0) plays at 6:15pm and #2 Seed Guam Community College (6-2) plays at 8:00pm. The TWBL Championship will be played at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 10th, prior to the Guam Men's College Basketball Championship at 4:00pm.
