UOG Women's Volleyball Team Wins GWCVL Championship 3-1 Over The Royal Volleyball Club
The University of Guam Women's Volleyball Team defeated the Royals of the Royal Volleyball Club on Saturday at the UOG Calvo Field
House for the Guam Women's College Volleyball League Championship 3-1.
The Royals came out fired up and took it to the Tritons and won the opening set 25-18,
as the Royals used their hard serving game to keep the UOG squad off balance. But
UOG then bounced back to win three straight sets 25-10, 25-20 and 25-18 as they held
off the Royals late in the sets for the rest of the match.
UOG won their semi-final match over Pacific Islands University 3-0 (25-9, 24-13, 25-19),
and the Royal Volleyball Club defeated Guam Community College 3-1 (25-9, 21-25, 25-18,
25-19)
UOG ends their season 8-0 and are now 16-0 for both of the GWCVL seasons with two
championships. The Royals were brought in as a replacement team for the UOG Trident
WVB (Club) Team that did not have enough players to play back at the start of the
league.
Guam Community College finished 3rd with a 2-5 record and Pacific Islands finished
last with a 0-7 record.
UOG will now play in a few local tournaments to finish the fall semester and will
play in the Guam Volleyball Federation League when it starts in the spring.
