UOG Women's Soccer Drops 3-1 Match To Team Slay
The University of Guam Women's Soccer Team lost on Sunday night to Team Slay in a Guam Football Association's Bud Light D2 Women's
League game at the GFA National Training Center.
Much like the first meeting between the two teams last year (3-0 Team Slay victory,
UOG won the D2 Championship match 2-1 later in the season), UOG seemed to dominate
the match in the mid-field. The Tritons out-shot Team Slay in chances on goal, but
UOG has no goalkeepers who have ever played the position before, and three long distance
shots for Team Slay found the net due to the inexperience.
Team Slay scored first in the match, but UOG came back and scored a short time later
to tie it at 1-1. Team Slay scored again before half to make it 2-1 going into half-time.
Team Slay came out quickly in the 2nd half and scored again, to make it 3-1. The Lady
Tritons had many scoring chances in the 2nd period but could never put another shot
into the net.
UOG is now 1-1 in the GFA BL D2 League and plays next Sunday against the Bank of Guam
Strykers at 3:15 p.m.
