UOG Women's Soccer Defends GFA Bud Light D2 Women's Championship With 4-2 Victory Over Team Slay
The University of Guam Women's Soccer Team defended their Guam Football Association's Bud Light D2 Women's League Championship on Sunday night at the GFA National Training Center with a 4-2 victory over the Select Care/ISC Team Slay 4-2.
Following the same script as the Spring 2017 Championship that UOG won, the Lady Tritons lost to Team Slay during the regular season (3-1) but came back to win the Championship 4-2 this season, 2-1 in the Spring.
UOG opened the scoring in the first half, going up 2-0 by half-time. Team Slay came-back in the opening of the 2nd half to score one goal, but UOG struck right back to make it 3-1, but Team Slay scored again to make it 3-2, but UOG finished the scoring to make 4-2 and put the game away for good.
Golden Boot award winner, Elisha Benavente, scored two goals for UOG while Veronica Dydasco matched her with two goals as well.
UOG finishes the Fall Season with a 5-1 record while Team Slay also ends up with a 5-1 record as well. The Tritons will return to the pitch in the spring.
