The University of Guam's Recreation Department Trident Men's Volleyball Club dropped a 3-1 match to the Guam Community College Men's Volleyball Team on Saturday afternoon in the UOG Calvo Field House in the opening match of the Trident Men's Volleyball League.

 Set scores were GCC 25-17, 13-25, 25-23, 25-23. UOG seemed to be the more athletic team in the match, but the Tridents MVC had not practiced and did not have a coach for the match.

The Tridents MVC will play the Hammers VC on Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. in the UOG Calvo Field House. The Hammers lost to Haggen VC in the other match of the afternoon, 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-20). The early match will feature Haggen VC vs GCC at 6:00 p.m.. The Hammers Volleyball Club is made up of Chuuk Island players who represent the island in international play.
