UOG Offers Partial Scholarships to Three Soccer Recruits
The University of Guam has recently signed three new players to letters of intent,
all of which will receive partial tuition scholarships.
Jordan Rosario played last year for the Tritons as they went 15-7-0 and finished 4th in the Guam Football Association Men's League (DII) and went 1-1-0 in the BOG GFA Cup competition. Rosario played high school soccer at George Washington High School where he was named co-captain his junior year and captain as a senior. He played for the “Big Blue” club in 2015-16 and won the GFA Division II Championship. Rosario will receive a partial scholarship to play for the Tritons this season.
Derrick Cruz is a graduate of Father Duenas Memorial School where he played high school soccer. Cruz played club soccer for the "Big Blue" in 2015-16 where he won the GFA Men's League (Division II) Championship. Cruz was also an outstanding baseball player, making the Major League Baseball All-Stars in 2007 and 2009. Cruz will also receive a partial tuition scholarship as well.
Noah Duenas played at John F. Kennedy High School where he was team captain the 2016-2017 season and earned 2nd Team All-Island status while the Islanders won the IIAAG Championship. Duenas also played on the 2014 Island Championship Team at JFK and was named “Honorable Mention” All-Island as a junior in 2015. He was a member of the Wings FC that finished 2nd in the GFA Men’s League twice. He played on the U17 Guam National Team that traveled and competed in Hong Kong in 2016. Duenas was also a strong academic student who was ranked #9 academically in his senior class as well as a finalist for the Shieh Scholar Athlete Award. UOG will give Duenas a partial tuition scholarship.
