The University of Guam Men's Basketball Team won their 14th straight game of the Fanuchånan (Fall) and ran their record to 6-0
in the Triton Men's Basketball League on Friday night at the UOG Calvo Field House
by defeating the KFC Bombers 92-82 in a come-back win for the Tritons.
It was a close game for most of the first half, as the Bombers led 26-25 at the end
of the first period and in the first 6 minutes of 2nd quarter, no team led by more
than 4 points, but UOG got a push in the last four minutes of the quarter to lead
52-41 at half.
In the 3rd period, the Bombers came out strong and UOG had trouble scoring as the
Tritons were outscored 28-11 in the period and were down by 6 points at the end of
the period, 69-63.
The Bombers would go up by 8 points before the Tritons would come back in the game.
UOG began to play better defense and made several stops as the Bombers started looking
at the scoreboard to check the score and Tritons ran past the Bombers for a 10 point
win as UOG outscored the Bombers 29-12 in the final 10 minutes.
In the 2nd game of the night, the UOG Trident Men's Basketball Club team lost to the
Harper Valley Kennel Toothfaries 164-82 in a wild game with little defense as both
teams combined for 86 points just in the 4th quarter alone and reminded fans of the
NBA All-Star game with no defense at all.
The UOG Tritons are now 6-0 in the TMBL while the Bombers fell to 3-3. UOG plays the
UOG Trident MBC on Sunday at 4:00pm in their next game. The Tridents fell to 0-6 on
the season while the Toothfaries improved to 3-3.
