The Richard Flores Taitano Micronesian Area Research Center (MARC) at the University of Guam featured a lecture by UOG President Dr. Robert A. Underwood on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 titled “The Birth of the First CHamoru” as part of its continuing seminar series. 

“The seminar series was implemented in the 1970s as a way to promote the Micronesian Studies Program and encourage interest in the people, culture, history and language in this region,” MARC Director Monique Storie.

The lectures are open to the public, free of charge and will be held on the second or third Tuesday of every month beginning at 6:30 p.m. MARC will announce the speaker and the topic at the beginning of each month.
