UOG Signs Matao's Sean Evans to LOI, Soccer Scholarship
The University of Guam Men’s Soccer Team signed Sean Evans, a Guam National Team player for the Matao, to play during the 2017-18.
Sean signed a UOG Athletic Letter of Intent and partial tuition scholarships for the
upcoming fanuchånan/fall and fañomnagan/spring semesters.
Evans played high school soccer for Harvest Christian School and earned 1st Team All-Island
Honors for three straight years (2015, 2016 and 2017). He was Captain of the team
as a junior and senior as well. The team finished in the top four of island competition
each year he played. Sean also was the captain of his high school volleyball team
as a junior and senior. He also earned 1st Team All Island in 2016-17 and 2nd Team
All Island in 2015-16 in volleyball. In 2017, the Harvest Christian team won the Island
Championship, and Sean was named MVP for the league.
He was also a member of the Wings FC and won championships from the time he was 6
years old until he was 16. Sean played with the Guam’s Shipyard FC who won the Bank
of Guam GFA Cup Championship in 2017. He was the team captain for the U-17 National
Team too.
Evans was a solid academic student who maintained over a 3.50 GPA and was on the AB
Honor Roll from the 9th Grade until his junior year.
The University of Guam Men’s Soccer Team was 15-7-0 in 2016-17 playing in the Guam
Football Association Men’s League Division II and finished 4th of 11 teams in their
first year of competition in over 15 years since the last team was together.
