The University of Guam Men's Basketball Team will have open tryouts for full-time UOG students on Monday/Tuesday August 28-29 at the UOG Calvo Field House. The tryouts begin at 7:00 p.m. each night and participants should show up at 6:45 p.m. to fill out paperwork.

The team is looking for up to 5 more players to add to the team's roster for 2017-18. UOG students must be full-time (taking at least 12 credits), they must have a 2.00 GPA at UOG or have a 2.50 GPA from high school if they are first time freshmen in the fall of 2017.

There is potential to earn an athletic scholarship if someone makes the team and becomes a major contributor to the program. But just making the team does not mean a participant will earn a scholarship. They must be a major contributor to the team in playing time and skill.

UOG will begin play over the Labor Day Weekend at Andersen Air Force Base in a tournament the Andersen Bombers are inviting several teams on the island to participate in. UOG will then play in the GBA Season 4 starting in October. The Tritons will defend their championship in the Guam Men's College Basketball League in January and February and then play in the final league of the year, GBA Season 5 starting in March.
