UOG Men's Basketball Team Defeats The Falcons 103-73 In The Guam Basketball Challenge
The University of Guam Men's Basketball Team defeated the Falcon’s club team on Saturday 103 to 73 at the Coral Reef Recreation
Center on the Andersen Air Force Base in the Guam Basketball Challenge.
In a game that felt much like a UOG intra-squad game, the Tritons started off slow,
changing line-ups often as both teams struggled to score. The Falcons, made up of
mostly ex-UOG players like Eric Reyes, Jorge Piolo, Dez Fikes, Mark Tandoc and others
only had 5 players to start but built their roster to 8 players as the game moved
forward.
UOG found a bit of an offensive rhythm in the 2nd period and took a 10 point lead
into half-time 42-32.
The Tritons came out fast and furious in the third period, making the game a full
court affair and scored 33 points and held the Falcons to 14 in the period to take
a commanding 75-46 lead at the end of the 3rd quarter.
UOG cruised for most the 4th period and cleared the bench at the 5 minute mark of
the final period and won 103-73 at the end.
Blake Jenkins led the Tritons with 23 points and 15 rebounds with 2 blocks while Anthony
Brown and Geno Anderson scored 14 a piece. Brown had 20 rebounds for UOG with 8 assists
and Geno Anderson added 7 rebounds.
UOG is 3-0 in the Guam Basketball Challenge and has scored 100+ points all three games
and face the host Andersen Bombers on Sunday at Noon.
