UOG Hosts GIFF International Filmmakers’ Panel on Sept. 29
The Guam International Film Festival and University of Guam Lambda Pi Eta Communication
Honor Society are hosting a filmmakers’ panel at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 29,
2017 at the IT&E Lecture Hall Room 131 in the Jesus and Eugenia Leon Guerrero Business
and Public Administration building at the UOG campus.
The title of the panel presentation is “DIY, No Budget, Low Budget – Get Your Story
on the Screen!” The panel will be discussing how to turn local lore and personal experiences
into “universal” screen stories and the pathway through production.
The panelists include international award-winning filmmakers:
Thomas Brislin, Ph.D. (Hawaii)
Dr. Brislin is the Head Juror for the Guam International Film Festival and the Associate
Dean, College of Arts & Humanities, and Professor & former Chair, Academy for Creative
Media, University of Hawai'i at Manoa.
Jack Niedenthal (Marshall Islands)
Jack Niedenthal is a veteran filmmaker/writer/director/producer/actor. He is an award-winning
independent filmmaker and four-time Guam International Film Festival alum.
Brian Kohne (Hawaii)
Hawaii's Brian Kohne is an award-winning music producer and independent motion picture
writer/director/producer.
