The University of Guam Women's Club Basketball Team Plays First Game In Years
The University of Guam Women’s Club Basketball Team (The Tridents BC) suffered a 29-16
loss on Saturday against the Fuetsa basketball club in the Trident Women's Basketball
League at the UOG Calvo Field House.
It was the first women's basketball game for the University of Guam in many years
and marks another successful sport club to start for the University of Guam Recreation
Program and Triton Athletics overall. The Lady Tridents BC had sent a team of 3 to
play in this summer's Guam National 3 X 3 Tournament, but this is the first 5-on-5
competition for UOG in over 15 years.
Fuesta jumped out to an early 10-1 lead and was able to maintain that lead throughout
the game. The Tridents BC were never able to make a run but they played tough and
made Fuesta work for every basket.
The Tridents BC were led by Justine Yeban with 7 points and Momoko Ennis with 6 points.
The Tridents BC look to get their first win of the season on Tuesday, September 12th
as they take on the Lady Bombers at 8:00 p.m. at the UOG Calvo Field House.
