The University of Guam Women’s Volleyball Team won on Monday night by defeating Team Metgot on a “Sudden Death” point in the 3rd Set 17-16 in the Guam Volleyball Federation League at Father Duenas “Jungle” Gym.

The Lady Tritons came out strong in the opening set, winning 25-17, but Team Metgot returned the favor in the 2nd set, winning themselves 25-17.

The 3rd set was a classic affair to 15 points, with no team holding more than a 2 point lead at any time. UOG had the first match point attempt at 14-13, but Team Metgot held. Metgot had the next match point attempt at 15-14, but the Tritons held and then with the score 16-16, the “Sudden Death” point comes into play, as the first team to 17 wins (in sets to 25, 27 is the Sudden Death point). UOG received the service clean and scored to win the set and the match.

UOG is now 2-2 in the Federation League and will play their next GVBFL match on Friday, March 24 at 7:00pm in the “Jungle” Gym against Pokai Jr’s.
