UOG Women's Volleyball Team Defeats Pacific Islands University 3-1
The University of Guam Women's Volleyball Team defeated Pacific Islands University 3-1 on Thursday night in the UOG Calvo Field House.
The Lady Tritons came out strong, taking the first two sets 25-15 and 25-13 but then lost momentum in the 3rd set, losing to the "Tide" 25-22 after holding a solid lead in the first half of the game.
The PIU squad played tough in the 4th set as well, but UOG won the game 25-23.
UOG rises to 2-0 in the Guam Women's College Volleyball League and in first place. The Tide drops to 0-2 on the season.
In the first match of the evening, Guam Community College won its first match in the GWCVL, defeating the UOG Women's Volleyball Club Team 3-1. The Club Tritons won the first set, 25-13, but then dropped three straight games to GCC. Both the UOG Club Team and GCC are 1-1 in the league.
The GWCVL returns to action on Thursday, February 9th with the two UOG squads playing at 6:00 p.m. All matches are at the UOG Calvo Field House and admission is free.
