The University of Guam Women's Volleyball Team opened the Guam Women's College Volleyball League (GWCVL) on Tuesday night at the UOG Calvo Field House with a 3-1 victory over Guam Community College.

The Tritons were shocked in the first game (set) of the match, as GCC came out and defeated UOG 25-20. But UOG quickly overcame the jitters of opening the season, as they won three straight games after that, 25-14, 25-14 and 25-16 to capture the match and go to 1-0 on the season.

In the 2nd match of the night, the UOG Women's Volleyball Club team beat a scrappy Pacific Islands University squad 3-1 as well, defeating PIU 25-17, 25-27, 25-21, 25-20.

The UOG varsity team returns to the court on Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. against Pacific Islands University while the UOG Club Team opens the night at 6:00pm against Guam Community College.
