UOG Volleyball Drops Match To Nex Gen In Federation League
The University of Guam Women's Volleyball Team dropped their 2nd match in the Guam Volleyball Federation League to the Nex Gen club
team (18 & under team) 2-1 on Sunday morning in the Father Duenas "Jungle" Gym.
UOG was playing without their starting setter for the match, and they struggled to
get an offense going the entire time as they lost 25-20, 25-27, 15-10. In the first
set, Nex Gen jumped out to an early lead, but UOG did come back and even things out
at 15-15. The Tritons did take one lead in the set, but Nex Gen got back the momentum
and closed the first set out.
The 2nd set was much of the same, but UOG was able to grab some leads and had game
point at 24-23. Nex Gen came back and had match point at 25-24, but UOG stopped them
and won the set 27-25. The third set started out close, but Nex Gen pulled away right
when teams switched sides and was leading 12-7 when UOG closed to within 12-10. Nex
Gen then scored three straight points to win 15-10.
The Tritons are now 1-2 in the Federation League and play tomorrow night (Monday,
March 13) at 7:50 p.m. against Metgot in the "Jungle" Gym at Father Duenas High School.
