The University of Guam Women's Varsity Volleyball Team claimed the title at the Guam Women's College Volleyball League Championship on Saturday
afternoon in the UOG Calvo Field House. The UOG Women's Club Team won the first set
of the match 26-24.
UOG Varsity Coach Tatiana Sablan was not happy with her team in-between sets and let
Varsity Tritons know it. The match changed dramatically when it resumed.
The UOG Varsity came back and won the next three sets by scores of 25-14, 25-9, 25-9
to win the match 3-1 and claim both the regular season championship and tournament
championship.
UOG Varsity was 8-0 on the season and had defeated Pacific Islands University (0-7)
3-0 earlier in the day to advance to the championship match against the UOG Club team.
The UOG Club Team finished the season 4-4 and was the #2 Seed for the tournament.
They had beat Guam Community College (3-4) in the semi-finals 3-2 to reach the championship
match. The UOGC and GCC match was a dead even affair that the Club Tritons were able
