UOG Serves Up Renovated Tennis Courts
The University of Guam is has recently renovated its tennis courts at the Calvo Field House.
Improvements to the courts began this summer, said UOG Triton Athletics Director Doug Palmer, but inclement weather delayed the process.
The project was completed the last week of November and cost $41,000.
“These newly renovated courts provide a new recreational activity for students, faculty, and staff,” Palmer said.
The renovations included resurfaced courts, new nets and poles, and repair of the gates.
While the courts are primarily for UOG students, Palmer noted that members of the public are able to use and rent the facilities.
Future Team
Creating an intramural or club tennis team is something Triton Athletics can rally behind, Palmer said.
In the long term, Palmer said he envisions developing a Triton tennis team to compete in local and international tournaments.
