UOG Senior Nursing Students Reach Out to Homeless Families
1/5/2018
On October 24, 2013 UOG Senior Nursing students worked with Dept. of Public Health
and Social Services Public Health Nurses in an outreach event at Guma San Jose, a
homeless shelter for families. The students worked with the DPHSS nurses to administer
immunizations, and perform health screening of children and adults living in the shelter.
The students were excited and enjoyed the community service opportunity. They learned
from the outreach, by working alongside experienced nurses while giving to the community.
Special thanks to the Guma San Jose staff and the DPHSS nurses and staff for allowing
the students to participate in this outreach!
