UOG Philosophy Program Offers Travel Course to Cambodia, Burma & Thailand this Summer

1/5/2018

University of Guam

Visit the archaeological remains of ancient civilizations that are quite unlike any place else in the world.

Countries visited include Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, as well as possibly Vietnam & Singapore.

Travel dates for the two week trip are tentative, but earliest departure is May 21st and latest return is June 19th.

Participants can join this trip either for academic credit (3 credits—undergraduate or graduate) or as a noncredit community participant.  Either way, this is an extraordinary exploration of several fascinating Asian countries.  Besides having an expert in Asian Culture, Philosophy, and Religion (UOG professor) leading the trip, efforts have been made to get the best national and local guides for the group while on the trip.

Exact dates for the trip are still tentative but departure will be between May 21 (Saturday) and June 3rd (Friday) and return dates range between June 5th (Sunday and June 17th (Sunday)—just over two weeks of travel.  Besides discussion on travel dates, those in attendance will also consider a longer stay in Thailand as well as short tours of Vietnam and/or Singapore in the itinerary.

For more information about the trip or when future meetings will be held, please call (671) 735-2800 or email us at socrates@guam.net.
