UOG Nursing Students Support Guam Homeless Coalition
Students from the University of Guam and Guam Community College volunteered at a health
care outreach/medical mission co-sponsored by the Guam Homeless Coalition and the
University of Santo Tomas Alumni Association of Guam on November 7 at Catholic Social
Service in Barrigada. UOG nursing students assisted in registration, immunizations,
blood pressure, and blood sugar screening for 92 residents of Guam's shelters for
homeless individuals and families.
“Students gained valuable experience working with children, adults, and families,”
said Dean of the School of Nursing and health Science Dr. Margaret Hattori-Uchima.
“Thank you to the University of Guam community for donating clothing and toys for
this outreach. It was much appreciated by the participants of this event.” See photos
