University of Guam Instructor and Nursing Learning Resource Center Coordinator VeronicaAlave recently received the Honorary Practice in Nursing and Allied Health education award from the Guam Nurses Association.

Alave was recognized for her achievements in nursing education including the development of the UOG simulation lab, said Dean of the School of Health Dr. Margaret Hattori-Uchima.

“Professor Alave has also contributed to the utilization of simulation in nursing education in the Micronesian region through her in-service education to nurses in the region,” Hattori-Uchima said. “She continues to develop the UOG Nursing Learning Resource Center and teaches student in both theory and clinical settings.”
