The University of Guam has hired Doug Palmer as its new Athletic Director.

Palmer joins UOG after serving as the head athletic director for Shoreline Community College in Washington state for the last seven years.

“I’m very excited to be at UOG,” Palmer said. “This is my dream job—it’s a unique situation, and I want to eventually have every major sport on the island covered here.”

Palmer has an extensive history in serving in sports administrative roles as well as coaching multiple sports such as volleyball, softball, and more.

He earned a bachelor of arts in physical education from Winthrop University in 1982 and a master’s of athletic administration from Florida State University a few years later.
