UOG Men’s Soccer Wins 7th Straight Match In 4-0 Victory
The University of Guam Men’s Soccer Team won their 7th straight match on Tuesday night
in the Guam Football Association Men’s League (Division II) at the GFA National Training
Center with a 4-0 victory over the Sidekicks FC.
UOG took advantage of the numbers game on Tuesday night, as several Sidekick players
were late arrivals. UOG struck their first goal in the first 10 minutes of the match.
UOG scored another goal in the first half to make it 2-0 at half time. The Sidekicks
offense was non-existent for most of the match.
The Tritons scored two more goals in the 2nd half to win 4-0. This was UOG’s 7th straight
win in the league and their first shut-out since January 27 in a 4-0 win over the
BOG Strykers.
Dylan Naputi led UOG with 2 goals while Joe Quan and Jordan Rosario added one goal
each.
The Tritons now face a trio of upcoming opponents who have defeated UOG earlier in
the season. UOG takes on the league-leading Islanders FC next on Tuesday, March 21
at 7:00 p.m. The Islanders defeated the Tritons 5-1 back on December 2, 2016 and gave
the Tritons their first loss of season, sparking a 4-match losing streak for the UOG
team.
After that, UOG will face the Bobcat Rovers and then the Rovers FC, teams that defeated
UOG 1-3 and 2-3 in December and early January.
The Tritons finish the regular season against the Crushers FC on April 21.
