UOG Men's Soccer Gets Revenge On LOA Heat With 3-1 Win And Extends Win Streak To 5
The LOA Heat came out strong and fast in the opening minutes of the match and scored
a goal at about the 5 minute mark of the game at the Guam Football Association National
Training Center in the GFA Men's League (Division II) match. The Heat had won their
first meeting with UOG 1-0 back in December and this game already had a similar feel
to that one after 5 minutes.
But things would change.
The Heat maintained the momentum for the first 15 minutes or so of the match, but
the Tritons would begin to turn the tide and control the ball and the momentum. The
UOG offense would spark for 2 goals later in the first half and the Tritons would
score another goal in the 2nd half along with the UOG defense preventing the Heat
from entering the penalty box area to win the match 3-1 and gain revenge on the LOA
Heat for their loss back on December 13 and the only shutout of the season the Tritons
have suffered.
Jacques Diambra scored two goals for the Tritons and Kautong K. Omengkar added the
other goal.
With the win, UOG has their second 5 match winning steak of the season and have moved
to 10-4-0 on the season while the Heat fell to 7-5-1. The Tritons play next Friday night against the Pago Bay Disasters at 7:00 p.m. at
the GFA National Training Center. UOG beat the Disasters 6-0 back on November 4, 2016. Pago Bay is 1-9-2 on the season.
