UOG Men's Soccer Defeats FC Beercelona 4-2 With Superior 1st Half Play To Run Winning Streak To 4 Games
The University of Guam Men's Soccer Team defeated FC Beercelona 4-2 on Friday night
at the Guam Football Association National Training Center in the GFA Men's League
(Division II) to run their current winning streak to 4 matches.
The Tritons had a great 1st half, scoring three goals and not allowing Beercelona
to build any offensive pressure.
Dylan Naputi opened the scoring from a set shot 20 yards out that hit the far right
of the netting that the Beercelona goalkeeper could not reach. Jacques Diambra then
took over, scoring two goals in the 2nd part of the 1st half to put UOG up 3-0 by
half time.
FC Beercelona came back in the match, scoring early in the 2nd half to make the score
3-1, but Jacques Diambra answered right back with another score, to make it 4-1. Beercelona
was not done and scored again to make the match 4-2. The UOG defense stiffened and
shut out Beercelona the rest of the way, and UOG had their fourth win in a row.
The win moved UOG's record to 9-4-0 on the season, FC Beercelona falls to 4-5-1. UOG
has a bye next Friday and returns to the pitch on February 24 at 9:00 p.m. vs the
LOA Heat, a team that defeated UOG 1-0 on December 13, 2016.
