The University of Guam Men's Basketball Team defeated the UOG Men's Basketball Club Team 108 to 52 in a Guam Men's College Basketball League game on Friday night in the UOG Calvo Field House.

The Tritons started strong and kept the pressure on the UOG Club Team as the Varsity Squad led 57 to 23 at half and then outscored the Club Tritons 51 to 29 in the 2nd half.

UOG Varsity was led by Ryan Naguata who scored 34 points, Andrew Carlos with 18 points, and Mark Tandoc with 15. Sean Frank was the only double-digit scorer for the Club Tritons.

UOG Varsity goes to 2-0 in the GMCBL while the UOG Club falls to 0-2.

In the opening game of the night, the Guam Community College team defeated Harvest Baptist Bible College 79 to 73 to win their first game of the season. GCC fell behind early in the game but battled back in the late stages of the first half to trail only 36-32 at half-time. Guam CC and Harvest battled in the 2nd half, trading baskets but GCC got ahead by 4 points and was able to hold a 4-6 point lead the last 2 minutes of the game.

Raymond Tolentino led the GCC squad with 20 points followed by Brandon Duenas with 17 and Daniel Duenas with 11 points. HBBC's Kaley Mangieso led all scorers with 26 points while Jeffrey Handley and Roland Padock were the other top HBBC scorers with 13 points and 10 points respectively.

GCC is now 1-1 in the league and HBBC is now 1-1 as well.

GMCBL continues on Saturday with Harvest Baptist taking on the UOG Varsity at 2:00pm and GCC playing the UOG Club Team at 4:00pm.
