UOG Men's Basketball Routs GCC 116 To 47 In GMCBL Action
The University of Guam Men's Basketball Team showed offensive and defensive muscle
on Friday night in the UOG Calvo Field House, as the Tritons pounded the Guam Community
College team 116 to 47 in a Guam Men's College Basketball League match-up.
The UOG defense forced 29 GCC turnovers, which led directly to 32 points, and UOG
had 24 steals as well. The Triton offense also scored 76 points in the paint, a new
strength for the team.
UOG's leading scorer was Ryan Nanguata with 30 points, followed by Elisas David with
15 and Rafael Sablan and Dezdin Fikes both with 13 points each. Eleven Tritons scored
in the contest. Joel Yangitemai and Daniel Duenas scored 12 each for GCC.
UOG is now 4-0 in the GMCBL and leads the league by 2 games with 2 games left in the
regular season. GCC dropped to 1-3 in the league. The league now has 13 days off and
will return to action on Thursday, February 23 with the UOG Varsity taking on the
UOG Club team in match-up of 1st and 2nd place teams at 6:00 p.m. and GCC facing Harvest
Baptist Bible College at 8:00 p.m.
