UOG Lady Triton Soccer Beats Defenders 4-1, UOG Goes To 5-0 On Season

The University of Guam Women's Soccer Team broke open a close match late in the 2nd half to win 4-1 over the Crowns Defenders in a GFA Women's 7 On 7 League game at the Guam Football Association Soccer Complex on Sunday night.

UOG scored first as Koholali'i Maertens struck a goal from a "Set" shot at mid-field that had a strong wind behind it as it curved into the goal from mid-field. The Defenders struck back, tying the game a few minutes later with their own long range shot over UOG's Goalkeeper Janice Piolo hands and below the crossbar. But Maertens scored again a few minutes after that, this time from closer range and the match went into half-time with UOG up 2-1.

Both teams battled without another score until late in the 2nd half when UOG's Any Besagar and Shaeina Torres both scored goals back to back to turn the game into a 4-1 Triton win.

The UOG Lady Tritons are now 5-0 on the season and play their final game of Fall 2016 on December 4th at 8:00pm Vs. the Tumon Typhoons at the GFA Soccer Complex. The 5-0 UOG Men's Soccer Team begins their final three matches of 2016 on Friday, December 2, at the GFA Soccer Complex Vs. Islanders FC at 9:00pm.
