The University of Guam Theater is presenting The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler from Thursday, Feb. 26 to Saturday, Feb. 28.

The play begins at 7 p.m. at the UOG Fine Arts Theater. General admission for the event is $20. Students and senior citizen admission is $10.

"This is a play you have to experience, and it will be something different for everyone," said UOG Assistant Professor of Theater Michelle Blas said. "Believe it or not, even men are affected positively by this show. Everyone is encouraged to attend."

Based on dozens of interviews Ensler conducted with women, the play addresses women's sexuality and the social stigma surrounding rape and creates a new conversation about and with women. Every year, the play is performed around the world in February and the proceeds are used for projects that work to end violence against women and girls. 

Blas has directed the play twice before. She is working with sixty-five people in the production as cast and crew members.
