UOG College of Natural & Applied Sciences Hosts Community Brainstorming and Information Session
On Wednesday, November 4, the University of Guam College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CNAS) will be hosting a community stakeholder priority brainstorming session beginning at 8:00 a.m. and a “Meet CNAS” information session beginning at 1:00 p.m. The public is invited and admission is free to each event.
Through the stakeholder priority brainstorming session, CNAS aims to attain public input to help the program determine priorities for improving the local community with research, extension and outreach, and instructional programs. Participants must register for the brainstorming session at http://cnas-re.uog.edu/priorities by November 1, 2015.
"This all-client priority setting meeting is a huge opportunity for our local community to talk about research, extension, education, and information needs in the areas of food and agriculture; natural resource use and conservation; youth, families and community; and nutrition, health, and food,” said, Jim Hollyer, Associate Director/Dean, UOG College of Natural & Applied Sciences. “We envision that the meeting will ignite new relationships that will focus collective energies on the potentials and problems in these four areas.
At the “Meet CNAS” information session, CNAS will be hosting a meet and greet for the local community. Faculty and staff from each of the CNAS divisions will have tables and displays with information about academics, current projects and research being conducted at the college.
“The general public, non-profits organizations, the business community and government agencies are all encouraged to attend both the morning and afternoon events," Hollyer added.
