The University of Guam Board of Regents welcomes Dr. Hyo Sang Ji as its newest member. The Legislature recently confirmed Dr. Ji’s appointment.

Dr. Ji currently is the anesthesiologist and medical director at the Guam Surgicenter. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and food science from the University of California Berkeley in 1995. He also completed medical school at St. Luke’s College of Medicine in the Philippines in 2005.  

Dr. Ji fills the vacancy left by former chairperson William Leon Guerrero who completed his term.

 

Board Elects Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson

The Board of Regents also recently elected Antoinette Sanford as Chairperson and Elizabeth Gayle as Vice-Chairperson.  

A UOG graduate, Sanford received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Minored in Accounting and Psychology in 1972.  She went on to earn a Masters of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from American Intercontinental University in 2008. She is the co-founder and President of Sanford Technology Group LLC.  

A civil engineer with more than 13 years experience, Gayle is a professional engineer who received her Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of California at Irvine.
