UOG Basketball Club Team Defeats Harvest Baptist In GMCBL
The University of Guam Men's Basketball Club Team defeated Harvest Baptist Bible College
on Friday night in the UOG Calvo Field House 73-64 in a game where the Club Tritons
came from very far down to only trail by 2 at half-time (32-30) and then pull away
from HBBC with their pressure defense in the 2nd half.
The Club Tritons were down by 12 points in the early going but began to get back in
the game with about 10 minutes left in the first half. The 2nd half was a back and
forth affair in the first 10 minutes, but UOG started to pressure with full court
and half court presses and the HBBC squad began to falter. HBBC had been very successful
with inside shots during the first 30 minutes of the game, but they got away from
that game plan as UOGC pressured the ball and got back into the game and took the
lead.
The UOGC team was led by Corey Abraham with 22 points followed by Sean Frank with
17 points. David Malon Jr. finished out UOGC double digit scoring with 11 points.
Emie Ling scored 19 for Harvest Baptist.
The UOG Club Tritons are now 2-2 in the league and in 2nd place. HBBC falls to 1-3.
Both teams are now off until February 23 when the Guam Men's College Basketball League
returns to action.
