University Theatre Presents Tartuffe by Moliere
University Theater closes its Spring 2015 Season with the 17th century French Neoclassical comedy Tartuffe by Moliere and translated by Richard Wilbur. Under the cloak of religious piety, an imposter, Tartuffe, played by Jefferson Cronin, befriends Orgon, played by UOG student Andrew Roberto, a rich man who is tricked into giving Tartuffe his daughter's hand in marriage and the deed to his house. Seeing their inheritance snatched away, Orgon's family tries various schemes to expose Tartuffe's hypocrisy.
