The University of Guam Tourism Awareness Group will host the PATA Youth Symposium on May 18.

The Symposium is part of the Pacific Asian Travel Association Annual Summit 2016 held May 18 to 21 at the Dusit Thani Guam Resort.

The PATA Youth Symposium will be held at the UOG Calvo Field House.

The PATA Youth Symposium, a half-day forum, is being offered to students and young professionals to engage with industry professionals during plenary talks and roundtable discussions on various topics relevant to the destination.

The PATA Annual Summit is a PATA signature event that aims to attract 400 delegates from over 30 countries, bringing together leaders, industry shapers, and senior decision-makers who are engaged with the travel and tourism growth in the Asia Pacific region. This event will include a one-day international conference that focuses on relevant travel and tourism industry trends and topics.

Additionally, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) along with PATA, took the unprecedented step to have their Ministerial meeting on Guam, scheduled for May 21, 2016. As the leading international organization in the field of tourism, UNWTO promotes tourism as a driver of economic growth, development in environmental sustainability, and offers leadership and support to the sector in advancing knowledge and tourism policies worldwide.
