The UOG Latte Tones Presents An Evening of Pop And All That Jazz
Enjoy an evening of the sweet melodies of University of Guam Music in An Evening of Pop and All That Jazz featuring the Latte Tones and the Mangilao Hot Jazz on March 18 and 19 at 7:30pm.
Audiences can expect to sing along and have a great time with the show as the Latte Tones perform Top 40 hits including covers of songs from modern acapella group Pentatonix and jazz acapella group The Real Group, said Latte Tones’ President, Andrew Gumatatao, a senior double majoring in Music and Chamorro Studies.
“Pentatonix is one of the most popular acapella groups right now, and they cover a lot of mainstream pop songs. And they’re fun songs,” said Gumataotao.
Gumataotao hopes for a good turnout and an audience that will interact and enjoy the music they will be performing.
“A song that I’m excited about performing is ‘La La Latch’ by Pentatonix,” exclaims Kalani Sisson, Latte Tones’ Treasurer and a senior majoring in music education. “It’s one of my favorite arrangements by them, and I hope we do it justice.”
According to Gumataotao, his fellow singers are one of the reasons why he loves being a part of the Latte Tones. He explains further that it is not just about the music, but also about the teamwork and development as a person. “I think I’m a better person,” he jokes.
Proceeds from this concert will go towards the Latte Tone's journey to the Alta Pusteria International Choir Festival in Italy on June.
Tickets for An Evening of Pop and All That Jazz cost $5 for general admission and $3 for students and seniors while children 6 and under are free.
