TakeCare Donates $100K to UOG School of Health

TakeCare Insurance Company, Inc. has donated $100,000 to the University of Guam School of Health.

The funds have enabled the Nursing Program to upgrade its Learning Resource Center Simulation Lab, which is a state-of-the-art facility featuring an observation room, audio and video recording for simulations, new lab equipment including wall units for oxygen and suction systems to simulate the hospital environment. This lab provides students increased opportunities to practice and learn their skills and enables the University to maintain high standards in nursing education.

In addition, the funds will also be used to provide scholarships for Nursing and Health Science students, graduate education and continued professional development for faculty and will fund computer lab support and  recruitment and retention initiatives.

"Through this continued partnership with TakeCare, the University of Guam's Nursing and Health Sciences programs have been strengthened," said Dr. Margaret Hattori-Uchima, Dean of the School of Health. "We appreciate the support and will continue to use the funding to enhance our programs."
