Summer Research Opportunity at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center
This summer, UOG Faculty and Research Associates have an opportunity to work in partnership
with a University of Hawaii Cancer Center faculty member by pursuing research, working
in a laboratory, learning new skills, or focusing on cancer education, research or
outreach. Applications are now being accepted for funding from the U54 grant for support
for a summer in residence at the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus.
Applicants will team with a mentor from among UH Cancer Center for the Summer 2017
term to develop a research or outreach project proposal for funding through the Cancer
Research Center for years 4-5 of the U54 grant.
Applicants are invited to submit a letter of interest with a clear idea for a research
or outreach project to the Co-Investigators. Summer salary will be paid by the grant
along with travel costs. Housing in Hawaii will be funded by our partners at the UH
Cancer Center.
UH Cancer Center faculty are also encouraged to apply for a reciprocal support for
education, research and project development at the University of Guam. Advanced graduate
students at either institution may also apply.
Please submit your letter of interest to Alicia Borja, House #7 Deans Circle on or by March 17, 2017 by 5:00pm. Applications will then be submitted for review to Dr. John Peterson, Research and Education Chair on March 20, 2017.
