Students Host Traditional Chamorro Christmas Celebration
Hosted by the University of Guam Division of Humanities at the College of Liberal
Arts and Social Sciences and the Chamorro Studies Program, students, staff and members
of the island community celebrated a traditional Chamorro Christmas during the Puengen
Minagof Nochebuena event held December 4 at the Humanities and Social Sciences building.
Along with a variety of served, a life-sized bilen stood at one end of the atrium
while students acted out the Nativity scene. There was also a fashion show, which
featured dress from ancient Chamorros to Spanish-era style clothing.
