Pacific History Association Calls for Papers
The Pacific History Association, University of Guam, and Guam Preservation Trust invite
scholars to participate in the 22nd PHA Conference from May 19 to 21 at the Hyatt
Regency Guam.
The conference theme, "Mo'na: Our Pasts Before Us," invokes Pan-Pacific ways of negotiating
the past, present, and future that blur conventional western notions of history as
linear, progressive and finite. With this theme, we also seek out linkages to the
Festival of the Pacific Arts, which Guam will host immediately following our conference.
Proposed abstracts are due by December 31 and may be submitted through the conference website. Paper abstracts may be submitted for inclusion in one of the conference's general
sessions or in one of the specific panels list on the following two pages.
Registration is now open. Early registration, running through January 31, 2016, is $200, while early student
registration is $100. Late registration from February 1 to May 5, 2016 will include
fees of $250 for general registrants and $150 for students.
