David OkadaIt was the deadliest terror attack in US history, and one local Guamanian recalls who survived the attacks firsthand.  Ret. Army officer Dave Okada (UOG Chief Planning Officer) was stationed at the Pentagon during the infamous 9/11 terrorist attacks that included the hijacking of four passenger planes and resulted in the deaths of nearly 3,000 civilians and first responders.

Once the first planes crashed into the World Trade Center Twin Tower in the early mornings of September 11, 2001, the Pentagon jumped into action. That's when Okada remembers heading to a meeting on the western side of the Pentagon, saying, "I heard a loud crash and saw smoke."
