Brown and Caldwell Creates Scholarship Fund for UOG Students
Representatives from the engineering firm Brown and Caldwell last week presented a check for $25,000 to the University of Guam for engineering scholarships.
“To highlight Brown and Caldwell’s presence on Guam for the past 25 years, we are proud to announce the establishment of a Brown and Caldwell Scholarship Fund to students majoring in engineering or an environmental science program at the University of Guam,” said Noel Enriquez, Client Service Manager at Brown and Caldwell.
Every year for the next five years, five students will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship, beginning with the students attending the fall 2015 semester.
“With this generous scholarship offered by Brown and Caldwell, many more University of Guam students can pursue engineering,” said Mark Duarte, UOG’s Financial Aid Director. “We thank Brown and Caldwell for their willingness to invest in our students and our island.”
William Gilman, Vice President of Brown and Caldwell, said in the future, the firm would like to see those students who have received the scholarship come on as interns.
“We’re all about engineering, making sure we progress the engineering profession, and we’re all about education too,” said Gilman.
Brown & Caldwell, one of the largest employee-owned environmental company in the United
States, is sponsoring a scholarship designed to increase students' interest in the
engineering and environmental professions and to support them in defining career goals
while attending the University of Guam. The scholarship program will award a $1,000
scholarship to five (5) students attending the University of Guam.
The deadline to apply for the scholarship is June 26, 2015.
