University of GuamThe University of Guam Board of Regents has unanimously voted to extend UOG President Dr. Robert Underwood's contract for two more years at a board meeting on Thursday, May 12. Underwood has served as president for the past eight years, making his tenure the longest consecutive presidency in the University's history.

Underwood became president in 2008. Under his leadership, the University has seen a significant growth in enrollment and graduation rates; reached record highs in revenues; expanded its portfolio of federal grants and contracts, developed and implemented its Good to Great initiative to prioritize its programs, held tuition rates flat for six years, established the Center for Island Sustainability and the Research Corporation of UOG; and maintained national accreditation for its academic programs--among other accomplishments.

"I am honored by the Board's confidence in my leadership, and I am grateful for the support of the University of Guam community including the students, faculty and staff," said Underwood. "I look forward to finalizing the G2G initiatives and providing more opportunities for future generations."
