262 to Graduate at UOG Fall Commencement on December 20
The University of Guam will recognize 269 prospective graduates during Fall 2015 Commencement
Ceremonies at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at the UOG Calvo Field House.
Richard Lui, journalist and current news anchor for MSNBC and NBC News, will be the commencement speaker. He was also an anchor for CNN Worldwide and has the distinction of being the first Asian American male to anchor a daily, national cable news show in the U.S.
His reporting has focused on politics, covering every national election since 2004. Lui contributes as a columnist for USA Today, Politico, Huffington Post, The Seattle Times and others.
Before journalism, Lui spent 15 years with Fortune 500 and tech companies. At Citibank, he co-founded and patented a payments backbone system, and he was a management consultant at Mercer for an IBM JV. He has held executive roles in environmental manufacturing and data recovery. He currently sits on both for-profit and not-for-profit boards. He is also working with a Palo Alto artificial intelligence company on how to leverage its technology in the humanitarian and not-for-profit space.
He is an alumnus of City College of San Francisco, University of California Berkeley, and the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
